Lockers, Sandals and Dues

Posted Sunday September 30, 2007

Sunday, September 22, at 8 AM we will be obtaining a number of lockers from the old SKW office in Overland Park. I’m picking up a truck at Uhaul at 7 AM and meeting Larry at the below location. We need at least two other strong backs to help dismantle these to manageable size for loading and moving. We will then move them to the dojo building and put a number of them in the ladies and men’s dressing rooms. Everyone should start bringing a suitable combination lock (where would you keep a key??) so they can secure and lock up their valuables when they change out for
practice.

We’ve also placed a shelf system in the entryway/lobby of the dojo. Everyone should bring a pair of zori (sandals) for wear when you enter the carpeted area or the mat area. This well allow us to keep the inside area cleaner. Just keep your zori in the rack when you enter and place your shoes there where your zori are kept. If you don’t have a pair they should be very cheap now that the season is over.

Once the snow melt is removed by the landlord we’ll use the dock area to remove the tools and equipment from around the mat area.

If anyone has any old chairs they’d like to donate for the dojo or old throw mats/rugs feel free to bring them. The dojo is for your use and training. It’s a project in the making right now but we’re hoping to make it a place everyone will be proud of as funds are available. On that note please try to stay current on your dues and fees. Every little bit helps.

Thanks
Roy

PS. If you plan to be there Sunday please respond ASAP so we’ll know how many bodies we can count on.
